This is the third brutal murder by liquor mafia in Punjab within one year: Gurpreet Singh Ghuggi
In majority of these murders, Akalis were involved directly or indirectly
Akalis should clarify who is patronizing this liquor Mafia, why police were inactive
CHANDIGARH, OCTOBER 13: Condemning another brutal murder of a youth in Jalandhar by Liquor Mafia, State Convenor of Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) Gurpreet Singh Ghuggi today said that law & order situation has stooped new low in Punjab, which could be evident from the series of three murders by Liquor Mafia within a year.
“It seems Mafias – be it Liquor, Sand, Land, Cable or Transport, are virtually ruling the state, which can be gauged from the fact that even after having enough evidences of Mafia’s involvement in the crime, Police were also seen in ‘fear’ to act due to pressure of Akalis, who patronage these Mafias”, Ghuggi said.
AAP Convener said that earlier a Dalit Bhim Tank was brutally murdered by Akali liquor baron Shiv Lal Doda, who was reluctantly arrested by Police, but even after his arrest he is enjoying the VIP facilities in jail, a couple of days back a dalit was brutally murdered in Mansa and even the murderers took away his chopped limbs and today another youth fell prey to the Liquor Mafia, who killed him brutally in Jalandhar.
Who is responsible for these killings? who is patronizing the Liquor Mafia?, Ghuggi quips while saying that everybody in the state knows that why these Mafias have no fear of police.
Waraich claimed that people of Punjab have made up their minds to give befitting reply to this Mafia’s rule by ousting SAD-BJP from power in 2017.
He said once voted to power, AAP Government to wipe out these Mafias from State and even crack down to abolish “Gunda Tax” being taken from Sand miners.
AAP demanded immediate resignation from Deputy Chief Minister Sukhbir Badal, who also holds Home portfolio, as he proved a big failure to maintain law & order in the state.
