AIR VICE MARSHAL HJ WALIA, COMMODORE COMMANDANT 48 SQUADRON AIR FORCE VISITS THE SQUADRON

Chandigarh: Sep 10 : Air vice marshal(AVM) Harinder Jeet Walia, Additional Director General (ADG) at HQ DG, NCC and the Commodore Commandant of 48 Squadron of the Indian Air Force visited the squadron today. He was presented a ceremonial Guard of Honour by the Commanding Officer Group Captain Khushpal Singh Lambha. This is the first official visit to the squadron as the Commodore Commandant by the AVM who is the alumni of the Defence Service Staff College, College of Air Warfare and national defence college.

While addressing the squadron personal in a hollow square he emphasised on welfare. The Commodore Commandant asked them to keep themselves updated in all aspect of profession and enjoy the profession as hobby .Each individual should also aware of different policy matters as regard Government welfare Schemes for service personnel, he added. Taking this opportunity he also recalled his days in the Squadron during 1998 .Presented a picture by his oratory skill about the condition ‘then and now’. Later joined for a high Tea and went for one to one interaction .

AVM Walia was commissioned in the transport stream of Indian Air Force in June 1981 and more than 5000 hrs of varied flying experience with extensive flying in the Eastern and Northern Sectors.

Earlier the day Air Commander Arun Saklani. AOC 12 Wing and Group Captain Lambha received the AVM who was on a two day official visit.
Mrs Pooja Walia in a separate interaction with the Unit ladies provided encouragement and appreciated the support given by the ladies to the unit Air Warriors.
