SAS Nagar, August 13 : As per the directions of National Legal Services Authority and under the guidance of Hon’ble Justice S.S. Saron, Judge, Punjab and Haryana High Court-cum-Executive Chairman, Punjab Legal Services Authority, a National Lok Adalat was organized on 13th August, 2016 by District Legal Services Authority, SAS Nagar, (Mohali) under the Chairmanship of Mrs. Archana Puri Ld. District & Sessions Judge-cum-Chairman, District Legal Services Authority to deal with the Bank Matters, Section-138 NI Act. (Cheque dishonor) and other recovery suits, Pre-Litigative and Pending cases in the courts.
Three benches, headed by Sh. Puneet Mohan Sharma, Additional District and Sessions Judge, Smt. Vipindeep Kaur, Chief Judicial Magistrate, Sh. Harpreet Singh, Additional Civil Judge, (Sr. Div.), at Judicial Court Complex, Sector-76. Additionally one bench of Permanent Lok Adalat, (Public Utility Services), SAS Nagar at Phase-3B1, SAS Nagar was also constituted.
One bench headed by Sh. Raj Karan, Civil Judge, (Jr. Div.), Derabassi at Sub-Division, Derabassi and another by Ms. Ekta Uppal, Additional Civil Judge, (Sr. Div.), Kharar at Sub-Division, Kharar were also constituted. Under the supervision of Mrs. Monika Lamba, Chief Judicial Magistrate-cum-Secretary, District Legal Services Authority, SAS Nagar 2220 cases were taken up and settlement of Rs.153434473/- was arrived. Mrs. Monika Lamba, Chief Judicial Magistrate-cum-Secretary, District Legal Services Authority has urged the public to derive maximum benefits from the Lok Adalats as they provide cost free and quicker justice besides resolving the disputes amicably and stressed that the awards passed by the Lok Adalats are non appealable and final. She appealed to the public to approach her office for Free Legal Aid and disposal of cases through Lok Adalat. The general public also appreciated the organizing of the Lok Adalat and derived maximum benefit from the same.
