LIEUTENANT GENERAL DR SONI, VSM TAKES OVER THE ARMY TRAINING COMMAND AT SHIMLA

Chandigarh, September 17 (Kuldeep Singh) Lt Gen DR Soni, VSM, took over as the 19th General Officer Commanding-in-Chief of the Army Training Command (ARTRAC) today.

The General was commissioned in the Central India Horse in June 1979. An alumnus of the National Defence Academy, Pune and the Indian Military Academy, Dehradun, he has, in his illustrious career, tenated important command, staff & instructional appointments. The General Officer commanded an Armoured Brigade, an Armoured Division and the Bhatinda Corps. He has attended the Defence College of Management and Technology at Shrivenham, UK and has the distinction of holding a Masters degree in Global Security from Cranfield University, UK.

The Army Commander is married to Colonel (Mrs) Suman Soni who is a Gynecologist and served in the Army for 22 years.  She has been closely associated with welfare activities and has now assumed the responsibility of the Regional President, Army Wives Welfare Association of the Army Training Command (ARTRAC)..
