NLIET female employee booked for false complaint of sexual harassment against former director

 

SAS Nagar, September 23 : The local police booked a female employee of National Institute of Electronics and Information Technology (NLIET) for producing false evidences against former director of the institute.

The complainant Dr. A K D Divedi, who worked as the director of NLIET from 2008 to 2014 said in his complaint that the present Managing Director of NLIET Ashwini Kumar Sharma along with other two employee Nidhi Bhatia and V K Jain tried to ruin his career by making false allegations against him.

In his complaint, Dr. Divedi alleged that Nidhi Bhatia lodged a complaint of sexual harassment against him in June 2014. After the complaint an internal inquiry was initiated but Nidhi Bhatia told the inquiry committee that she gave the statements under pressure of her seniors.

Dr. Divedi told said that Ashwini Kumar wanted to target him as he had challenged his appointment as the MD. Dr. Divedi said that he lodged a complaint with Patiala Zonal Inspector General of Police that he was targeted.

He said that IG marked an inquiry in to the matter in which the complaints lodged by Nidhi Bhatia were found to be tempered to falsely implicate Dr. Divedi. After taking the advice from District Attorney (Legal) Police has registered a case under sections 109, 193, and 195 A of IPC against Nidhi Bhatia. No arrests have been made so far
