UGI celebrated Independence Day with Patriot Fervor

Mohali, August 13 : Universal Group of Institutions celebrated Independence Day with patriotic spirit and fervour in which Freedom Fighter, Elder persons especially born in 1947 of nearby villages participated. UGI Campus abuzz with Independence Spirit. The students put up shows emphasizing the true meaning of freedom and evolution of India. The program includes plays, dances, speeches and patriotic songs. The process of freedom struggle, celebrating the spirit and sacrifice of our true heroes our freedom fighters, taking the country forward and learning about the duties towards the nation is the essence of the day. At the moment  tree plantation drive followed by rally  was also  organized under Swachh Bharat Abhiyan

Speaking on the occasion Dr. Gurpreet Singh, Chairman, UGI said that freedom is a highly valuable thing and it is imperative that it be protected at all costs, adding that social evils like communalism, illiteracy and corruption are a threat to the freedom of the country. He advised the students to fight against these evils so that the country could be free in real sense.

He , later conveyed the message to the students that they should uphold the ideals of the great leaders who fought for the Indian Independence.
